It’s certainly a good place to start, but if you don’t find something using the search features, try just slogging through the full listings. Looking for a striped shirt? If you search for “stripes” under “tops” you may miss a bunch of things. Unfortunately, the human error is worse than computer error and many features don’t get listed. You can search in the search bar by listed features. I have seen plenty of things get listed by the wrong color. First, I think they use some kind of computer program to analyze the picture and figure out what color something is. The search feature on this site is fairly terrible. I’ve definitely gotten lucky and grabbed some stuff this way. So, if someone added an item to their cart that you had your eye on and you never bookmarked it, keep checking the new items section. If someone has an item in their cart for a while and either removes it or their cart expires, that shows up as new. The word “new” gets quotes, not because I’m trying to be cute about used clothing, but because there’s a second category of clothing that shows up as new. The default search lists things by newest first, so you will see all of the “new” inventory at the top. I like to check the site periodically to see what new stuff has just come in. How do I find the good stuff? They say on the site that the best stuff goes quickly and that’s kinda true. When I emailed customer service about this, they just refunded my money and didn’t make me send it back, which was nice. I have, however received an item like this that had damage that the item didn’t list. They occasionally have items that they reduce the price of further (prices show up in red) and they are not returnable. If you want to return it for your money back you can either use their return label for $8.99 (subtracted from the value of the return) or you can return it using your own method, which is probably cheaper. The item must be returned in the condition that it is sent to you and you have 14 days from the day of receipt to put it in the mail. ![]() If you return an item for store credit, return shipping is free. I have stuff from Rag & Bone as well as Helmut Lang from there. The prices are generally around 75-80% off retail and they have everything from Forever 21 on up to Gucci. They only select the items still in the best shape, and if there is any issue with it (stain, pilling, etc) they tell you. I describe it to my friends as a “curated Goodwill”. What is Thredup?
